Heartnuts

Heartnuts - juglans a. cordiformis.  Heartnuts are absolutely the best walnut we have ever grown on our farm... The best varieties are grafted heartnut trees but they are very difficult to make and therefore more expensive than regular nut trees grown from a seed.  Seedling trees are tougher and tent to grow faster/taller than the grafted ones.
